After watching 2019’s In Search of Darkness, did you find yourself wishing for ANOTHER 4 hours of 80s horror nostalgia?
Well you’re in luck, it’s back! In Search of Darkness: Part II gives us another heaping helping of the best of the best in 80s horror. In addition to the 40 plus returning favorites, Part II features horror legends Robert Englund (Actor – A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise), Tom Savini (SFX – Friday the 13th, Day of the Dead), Nancy Allen (Actor – Dressed to Kill, Poltergeist III) Linnea Quigley (Actor – The Return of the Living Dead, Night of the Demons), and many others.
Part II keeps the same format as the original, splitting the decade up into years, each one represented by about five films that are dissected and reminisced about by actors, directors, crew, and various other superfans (such as Corey Taylor of Slipknot and wrestler Chris Jericho). Between each year is a bonus segment, which is pretty much its own mini-doc on a specific topic pertaining to the genre, such as a particular trope or a deep dive into a performer’s career. Like its predecessor, Part II has a runtime of over 4 hours but the structure makes it easy to consume in small bursts if you so desire. It’s clear they have no shortage of content, and I would love to see this keep going, even if it was to just become shorter episodes in the future.
Just like a majority of 80s Horror, In Search of Darkness Part II is not for the squeamish or prudish. In fact, it focuses on some of the goriest and most realistic practical effects moments ever created! The whole conversation they had about eye trauma in films had this horror and gore fan watching through her fingers. And I loved every minute of it! The best part? Watching In Search of Darkness I and II leaves you armed with the ULTIMATE 80s Horror film watch list.
In Search of Darkness: Part II is not available in stores or on any streaming services so visit 80shorrordoc.com now to get it as part of their current flash sale, good through midnight February 14th!
